Online in Nova Scotia
Casino Nova Scotia Halifax and alc.ca
Casino Nova Scotia Halifax, at 1983 Upper Water St on the downtown waterfront, is a building you walk into with photo ID. Online play in Nova Scotia works under its own rules, and the Harbour Walk desk sets them out here.

The provincial online site
Nova Scotia's provincially regulated online casino is alc.ca. The operator is Atlantic Lottery, acting for NSGC, the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation, the Crown corporation in charge of conducting and managing regulated gambling across the province. It sits under the same Crown corporation as the casino on the waterfront. iCasino has run there since July 2022, and Live Casino was added later. The minimum age to play is 19, matching the province's casinos.
Private online casinos get no licence or registration in Nova Scotia. Atlantic Lottery states that no other gambling site may operate or advertise legally anywhere in Atlantic Canada, whatever overseas licence it says it holds. Regulation sits with the Alcohol, Gaming, Fuel and Tobacco (AGFT) Division of Service Nova Scotia. That division is independent of NSGC and of the operators.
Limits and breaks online
Online, alc.ca runs a self-exclusion of its own lasting 6, 12, 24 or 36 months. There is also a brief break option, from 1 to 90 days long. Neither can be reversed. You can set weekly deposit, daily session and daily wager limits as well. The casinos in Halifax and Sydney have their own, separate self-exclusion: Casino Nova Scotia's Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program.
For gambling problems, Nova Scotia's response is one phone number, 1-888-429-8167, which reaches the province's crisis line covering addictions and mental health. Nova Scotia Health runs it. No call costs anything, every call stays confidential, and someone picks up at all hours on every day of the week.
How this guide is paid
Every paid link carries an Ad tag, and you will come across them on the guide's home page and nowhere else. They number three: a button in the header, one sitting inside a block beneath the opening screen, and one close to the bottom. The three all point you toward one private online casino, the same partner each time. Through them the guide earns a commission, and which partner it is can change.
This page carries none of them. Nova Scotia has no licence for private online casinos. No casino in Nova Scotia is linked to the partner in any way. It also has no tie to the provincial gaming corporation or to the lottery corporation that runs the provincial site. There are no bets, no accounts and no cashier on this guide.
